Character Q&A: Robbie the Rabbit of Mike Martin's A FRIEND FOR CHRISTMAS #characterinterview

Today's guest is Robbie the Rabbit from inside the pages of A FRIEND FOR CHRISTMAS by Mike Martin.  It is a pleasure to have him with us at The Literary Nook!

What is your name?

Robbie the rabbit

What do you look like?

Small, furry, with a cute nose

Where are you today and what are you doing?

I am having a nap with my wife Rowena and our 9 kit

Describe the outside of your habitat.

It is cold and snowing.

What’s the mood outside right now?

There’s tall creatures putting up things on sticks. They seem happy. They’re singing. I guess they’re happy

What's your favorite piece of clothing?

Well, in case you didn’t notice, I have nothing but a fur coat.

What scares you?

Tall creatures, dogs. Basically anything that moves. I freeze first. Then I run away. I used to be afraid of cats but something happened. You have to read the story to find out.

How would your parents describe you?

They would say I was a wonderful, frisky kit. (I hope)

What’s the last thing you do before you go to bed at night?

Give my wife Rowena a snuggle and a nose kiss.

Who is your best friend?

My best friend is Whisper the cat. Like I said you have to read the story to find out why.

Do you think the author has done a bangup job portraying you?

I do but I wish he would have put more carrots in the story.

About the Book

Good things come to those who face their fears.

Robbie Rabbit lived in a warren in a big city with his wife Rowena Rabbit and their nine kits. He called it their rabbit apartment. Robbie and his family were hunkering down for winter when an unexpected visitor makes an appearance.

A Friend for Christmas is the heartwarming tale of a very brave rabbit who faces his fears and makes a new friend at the magical time of the year.  He learns that friends can come in all shapes and sizes and Robbie and his family discover the joy of Christmas.

This beautifully illustrated book is suitable for children of all ages. Especially those who still believe in the magic of Christmas.

“This lovely fable tells the story of an unlikely friendship between a family of rabbits and a gray cat named Whisper. In these war-torn times, it’s an important reminder of our innate ability to choose live over fear.” – Amazon
