Character Q&A: Stefano “Stef” Orso of Lorenzo Petruzziello's A MISTAKE INCOMPLETE

It's Character Interview Day!

Today's guest is Stefano "Stef" Orso from inside the pages of A MISTAKE INCOMPLETE by Lorenzo Petruzziello.  It is a pleasure to have her with us at The Literary Nook!

What is your name?

I am Stefano “Stef” Orso. The main character in A MISTAKE INCOMPLETE by Lorenzo Petruzziello.

What do you look like?

An above average man with a charming smile, and magnetic personality.

Where are you today and what are you doing?

I’m sitting in a plush velvet green divan at a bar in Milan, taking an occasional sip of a glass of whiskey.

Describe the outside of your home.

I live in Brera district – a cool, fashionable neighborhood of Milan. The outside of my apartment has a view of a park.

You come face to face with your worse enemy. How do you react?

I look away and make them think they are absolutely irrelevant to me.

You keep a photo album of memories from your lifetime. If you could only keep one photo, which one would that be?

Enjoying a delicious breakfast on a veranda of a luxury hotel room, overlooking Lake Como.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Both – my line of work requires it.

A police officer stops you for a minor violation. What violation is that and how do you react?

Trespassing at a private party. I simply tell him a confusing and long story vaguely implying that I do belong and that am someone’s companion.

What is your favorite piece of clothing?

My peacock blue sports jacket with green and gold buttons – lined in satin iridescent green fabric with insect design.

Do you have any phobias? What are they and how intense are they? How have they impacted your life?

Gerascophobia. It’s been growing inside of me day by day. And it’s been affecting the decisions I make in life and work.

Open your wallet, purse, or briefcase. What do you find?

There’s a map inside the right inside pocket of my sports jacket.

You move into a new home. What's the first thing you buy for it?

Artwork – probably a painting. Or a large mirror.

How do you feel about mortality?

If I stay as I am physically, then I want it.

What scares you?

Getting old.

How would your parents describe you?

Shaking their heads.

What’s the last thing you do before you go to bed at night?

Bathe. Get it all off of me.

Who is your best friend?

Probably my tall wall mirror.

Who is your worse enemy?

The mirror over my bathroom sink.

Are you faith-oriented?

No, but I know the stories.

Are you married or in a relationship?

Not married. I don’t want to marry. My relationships are all over the place. I can’t keep something serious.

Do you have children?

I hope not!

Where is your favorite hangout?

A lounge located on the grand canal in the Navigli of Milan.

You are at the zoo. What is your favorite animal?

A toucan. I like the color of its beak.

You just woke up to find that war has been declared. What’s the first thing you would do?

Make my espresso.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

A successful businessman.

If there was one thing you could change about yourself, what would that be?

Everything… well, except, I would like to keep the memories of all of the people of been intimate with… well, most of them.
