What is your name?
Sergeant Winston Windflower
What do you look like?
Tall, dark and handsome. You should see me in my red serge uniform.
Where are you today and what are you doing?
I’m in Grand Bank, Newfoundland with my partner and children.
Describe the outside of your home.
Outside it’s foggy. So foggy you can hardly see anything. But if you could, you would see the Atlantic Ocean from my backyard.
You come face to face with your worse enemy. How do you
react?
I run, if I can. I have no desire for a confrontation. But if I can’t get way, I would try an calm him down and call for help.
You keep a photo album of memories from your lifetime. If
you could only keep one photo, which one would that be?
My wedding day with my wife, Sheila. She is still the love of my life.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
I am definitely a morning person. I would need a lot of coffee to stay up late.
A police officer stops you for a minor violation. What
violation is that and how do you react?
It might be speeding and if I was, I would take the ticket and thank him. Hoping that he doesn’t recognize me.
What is your favorite piece of clothing?
Probably my rain jacket. It’s almost always raining or foggy or misty here in Grand Bank so I really need it.
Do you have any phobias? What are they and how intense are
they? How have they impacted your life?
Nope. I don’t like spiders and snakes, but who does?
Open your wallet, purse, or briefcase. What do you find?
A picture of my late Auntie Marie. I really miss her.
You move into a new home. What's the first thing you buy for
it?
A living room set and a TV.
How do you feel about mortality?
We’re all going to die.
What scares you?
Something happening to my children.
How would your parents describe you?
I hope they would say I was a kind man.
What’s the last thing you do before you go to bed at night?
Give thanks for the day. Kiss Sheila.
Who is your best friend?
Herb Stoodley. He co-owns a café in Grand Bank.
Who is your worse enemy?
I hope I don’t have any. But I suspect many of the crooks I put in jail don’t like me very much.
Are you faith-oriented?
I am spiritual but not religious.
Are you married or in a relationship?
Married to Sheila Hillier.
Do you have children?
Amelia Louise and Stella.
Where is your favorite hangout?
The Mug-Up café in Grand Bank.
You are at the zoo. What is your favorite animal?
I love the cats. Lions, tigers, all of them.
You just woke up to find that war has been declared. What’s
the first thing you would do?
Pray for peace.
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew
up?
I always wanted to be a police officer.
If there was one thing you could change about yourself, what
would that be?
I would like to be braver. To say and do the things that
needed to sad or done, even if they were hard.
