Thanks for this interview, Brittany.
Can we begin by having you tell us about yourself from a writer’s standpoint?
I am a communications strategist by day, but writing is my
passion. My co-author also works in this industry and shares my love for both
writing and politics, which is why we decided to write this book together. I
also regularly contribute articles about gender and leadership to the
Huffington Post, Bustle, and Changeboard, among other general interest media
outlets.
When not writing, what do you like to do for relaxation
and/or fun?
In the summer, I love going to my beach house in Connecticut,
near where I grew up. I like to cook when I have time and am always looking for
new and exciting recipes.
Would you say it’s been a rocky road for you in regards to
getting your book written and published or pretty much smooth sailing? Can you tell us about your journey?
My co-author and I work very well together, so the
collaboration was very smooth. The hardest part was keeping up motivation to
meet deadlines. I had to take breaks and start again once I had more energy to
really sit through a writing session and get things done.
If you had to summarize your book in one sentence, what
would that be?
52 Reasons To Vote For Hillary is a comprehensive guide and
reintroduction to Hillary Clinton’s record and life experience.
What makes your book stand out from the rest?
The book contains positive reasons to vote for Hillary
Clinton, which is a stark contrast to the negativity we’ve seen in this
election cycle. We believe it feels much better to vote FOR a candidate than
AGAINST one, and that’s one of the reasons we wrote this book.
If your book was put in the holiday section of the store,
what holiday would that be and why?
Maybe New Year’s, to represent a new beginning and the theme
of moving forward with Hillary as president.
What’s next for you?
I will be spending the next 6 months traveling around the
world and working on a project called Women of the World, which is a
photo-journalism effort to give visibility and voice to women globally. Check
out my blog, WomenWantToBeOnTop.com, for more information soon.
