Cover Reveal and Giveaway: Love is a Wildfire by Kate Kisset

Playboy-vintner Michael Santino’s world is about to go up in flames. The largest wildfire in California history is racing straight for his precious vineyards.
But the fire isn’t what’s making him hot and bothered— it’s Shae.
The beautiful firefighter he’s never forgotten is on the scene, re-igniting sparks and making it impossible for him to think straight. Now he can’t remember why he broke up with her.
Firefighter extraordinaire Shae Hayes is determined to evacuate Santino Winery.
Strong and proud, and from a long line of heroes, she’s not taking no for answer—even if it is from Napa Valley’s own Mr. Charming. The devastatingly handsome sweet- talker is the only man who turns her insides to jelly.
When the wind changes and Engine 6 is stationed at Santino Winery, Shae and Michael begin to melt in close quarters, and their chemistry ignites.
Is it the firestorm outside or the flames smoldering in their hearts that has them clinging to each other?

They’ll soon have to decide if
LOVE IS A WILDFIRE.

Guest Post from I.M. Free, author of I Don't Have Time

Title: I Don't Have Time
Author: I.M. Free
Publisher: iUniverse
Genre: Biography
Format: Ebook

When she was in her early thirties, the author realized something was guiding her. Suddenly, a whole new world opened up.

She had never considered herself an atheist, but she had always questioned the stories in the Bible as she thought it was impossible for anyone or anything to have so much power.

But through her own experiences, she learned something really does have that much power. She became one of the few people throughout time who began communicating directly with God.
Sometimes when the author awakens, she knows something she didn’t know before she fell asleep. She feels things she wasn’t aware of before. This is how God protects her and prepares her for life.

I Don’t Have Time is the story of how God found the author and how she realized that while some people live as though they won’t face consequences for their actions, they could not be more wrong. Even if they don’t pay the price in this lifetime, they will in the next.

GUEST POST

As a first-time author, I wrote this book because I believe it was part of God’s plan for me.   Many years ago I felt I would eventually write a book about my life. At my daughter’s funeral, the voice I hear said to me I would write.
I choose the title of my book, “I Don’t Have Time”, because many times I felt there just wasn’t enough time to do all the things I believed needed to be done.  Today, I realize God gives us time to do what we are supposed to do.
My pen name, I. M. Free, is how I feel today because I have a clear conscience and can look back over my life knowing I am not perfect, but I did my best.  It is my belief I will live again and I will be given the time and opportunity to do the many things there wasn’t the time to do in this lifetime.
Unlike many, I do not want fame or recognition, I cherish my privacy.   A great-grandmother in my seventies, I am very content with my peaceful life and hope to live the remainder of my life as I have always lived.

I.M. Free nearly gave up on life as a teen living with an alcoholic parent, but at just the right time, a voice saved her life. That voice led her to a close relationship with God,who she now thinks of as her friend and confidant. She wrote this book so that others will find Him.

Sunset Beach by Christine Donovan / Book Blast & Giveaway!

SUNSET BEACH by Christine Donovan, Contemporary Romance, 255 pp., $3.99 (kindle)

Title: SUNSET BEACH
Author: Christine Donovan
Publisher: Independent
Pages: 328
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Until Sarah Kennedy is 17 she spends her summers at Sunset Beach with a close-knit group of friends. They are young, carefree, and just a tad wild—as teenagers tend to be. They share secrets, love, and a deep connection. But that final summer life as the friends know it begins to unravel. Domestic violence plagues one family, one of their group becomes a criminal. Sarah severs all ties with her friends and disappears.

Fifteen years after the summer that changed Sarah’s life forever, she receives a letter about a reunion. Can she bury her fears, curb her anxiety enough to attend and finally unearth who attacked her and changed the trajectory of her life forever? She also hopes to reconnect with the one man she gave her heart and soul too—Jake Ferroli. She wonders if his life faired any better than hers after his family tragedy and his downfall into drugs and alcohol.

Sarah locks down her demons and rents a cottage for the summer. To her surprise Jake is still single and they slowly reconnect. But so does her attacker. He is good at eluding the police. Somehow he has gone on attacking women for fifteen years without so much as being a suspect. Pictures, letters, and threats against Sarah now come on a daily basis. Jake and Sarah hire a private detective and as they get closer and closer to revealing the identity of the perpetrator, he strikes. Can Jake rescue Sarah before their so-called friend rapes her, or even worse, kills her as he did to his last victim?

When he stepped close to her, he could sense rather than see her retreat. Her eyes darted toward the door then back to him, suddenly full of panic. Why? It tore at his heart to know someone or something traumatized her.
“Why don’t you take a seat and relax.” He reached out to touch her arm and she all but flinched. It appeared ever so quickly, but he noticed it. On an exhale, he let his arm fall, frowned at her behavior, and sat down. She slid into the chair opposite him.
“So, tell me why you’re so jumpy? Is it me, or are you always like this?” God, please don’t let it be me.
She shot him a look of disbelief. “I’m not jumpy.”
Clearing his throat, he said, “If you say so.”
“Have you kept in touch with everyone?”
The desperation he witnessed flash in her eyes nearly broke his heart. “Yeah, I have. You know about Drew and Alyssa. Tom’s a doctor. He works at Mass General and he’s still single. Dylan lives in his mother’s old house. He’s a local cop here. Had a nasty divorce a few years back, but I don’t know all the details. I believe he has one kid, a daughter. Mitch is a detective with the Boston Police Department. He married a fellow police officer and they have two kids. Heather married some guy last year, I haven’t met him. Tracy’s single and I think she’s the only one not coming.”
“I had no idea what became of anyone.” Tears pooled in her eyes. “Except Charlotte.” She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “You took me by surprise when I saw you pull up today.”
Exhaling, he said, “Likewise. I didn’t expect you to come after fifteen years of silence.” He ran his hands threw his hair and asked, “Why did you come?”
“I don’t know. I thought it was time.”
She had a strange, vacant look on her face, so Jake decided to drop the subject. He would push for more answers later. And he wanted answers. Something had been eating a hole in his heart all these years, and he wanted to know why.

Thanks for this interview, Judy. Can we begin by having you tell us about yourself from a writer’s standpoint?

I am the mother of four and an English teacher. I have been married to the most romantic man in the world for 22 years, which qualifies me to write the most wonderful romance. I have been writing professionally for eight years now. My romance novels are full of suspense and excitement. I have been told that you can count on me for an unexpected ending. So far, I have written The Easter’s Lilly Series, The Linked Series, and Ivy Vines, Visions.

When not writing, what do you like to do for relaxation and/or fun?

Writing is my relaxation and fun. I am a teacher by trade, so that is my job. Although I do love to teach, writing is my passion. Another thing I love to do is sing, write songs, and play guitar. I enjoy hanging out with my family whenever possible, and stealing a moment with a good romance novel is a guilty pleasure I enjoy.

Congratulations on your new book! Can you give us the very first page of your book so that we can get a glimpse inside?

Chapter 1
The blood was pulsating through my veins and when I looked down, my hands were shaking. All that schooling and relentless training still did not prepare me for what was coming next. What would I say, and how would they react? All the uncertainty was driving me mad. Sometimes I doubted my very own motives. I took this job out of necessity, not out of a passion for my craft, and with every passing day, I grew just a little more disheartened.
I am a substitute teacher and this is my very first parent-teacher conference. Sometimes the meager pay that I bring home for this incredulous journey hardly seems worth it. I earned my degree, got my certification and couldn’t find a job as a teacher. So, the principal promised me a teaching position if I would just do this one last thing… be a long-term sub for a high school English class. This has not been my finest hour. The teacher I replaced had already made a mess of things and the students were failing left and right. One of the moms called and demanded to know why her little Michael was failing. Maybe if he did his homework… is of course what I wanted to say, but now I have to face her and tell her why little Michael is my least favorite student in the class.
I got all my papers together and sat back down at my desk when Michael walked through my door. “Michael,” I started. “What are you doing here?”
Just then a very handsome man walked in behind him. He was about 5ft. 10, blond and blue-eyed, wearing faded jeans, and a button-down, powder blue sports shirt. When he smiled, my knees went weak and I’m sure my face flushed. “I’m Charles Cross,” he said, putting out his hand to shake mine. “My friends call me Charlie.” He smiled. “You look surprised. We do have an appointment today, don’t we? I hope I didn’t get the date wrong.”
“I’m sorry, I was expecting Michael’s mother,” I told him. “And yes, we have an appointment. I’m Daphne Foster.”
“She was unavailable,” he continued. “So now I guess you’re stuck with me.” He pushed Michael ahead of him so that he would move farther into the room. I’m sure my face was still red.

Would you say it’s been a rocky road for you in regards to getting your book written and published or pretty much smooth sailing?  Can you tell us about your journey?

My journey has been a positive one. It has been rough learning how to write a query letter, a synopsis, and who to send my information to. That is probably the most difficult part of the journey. I have enjoyed using a small press and I have even published independently, but I think it is time to go down a wider road.

Writing the book usually goes quickly, but the editing does take the longest. I usually edit at least 3 times. I highly recommend finding someone else to edit your book for you. Even though we may think it is flawless, we tend to see what we know should be there instead of what is actually on the page.

If you had to summarize your book in one sentence, what would that be?

If you liked the Vampire Diaries, you are going to fall head-over-heels for Linked.

What makes your book stand out from the rest?

In most vampire novels, the vampires are trying to turn humans into vampires. In Linked the vampires are trying to “link” with humans in order to share their souls and become human.

If your book was put in the holiday section of the store, what holiday would that be and why?

Certainly, Halloween. All the spooks come out and play around in the dark.

Would you consider turning your book into a series or has that already been done?

I have completed book two, First Blood, and will begin work on book three shortly.

What’s next for you?

I have written a new Mafia romance and am currently searching for  a new publisher. While I wait, I am writing book seven of The Easter’s Lilly Series. My characters have not told me just yet if this will be the final book in the series. The next book in my plans is book three for Linked.

Character Interview with The Twins of Lydia and Santina Casablanca's THE DAWSONS

Our guest characters today are The Twins, characters out of Lydia and Santina Casablanca's THE DAWSONS. Enjoy the interview!

What do you look like?

We are twins so this will be easy. We both have chestnut colored hair, hazel blue eyes. One of us is skinny and one of us is not. We have olive colored skin. We have potato noses and small ears. We’re 158 cm. And that’s pretty much it.

Where are you today and what are you doing?

We’re sitting at our mum’s kitchen table with a cup of coffee and answering your interesting questions. :)

Describe the outside of your home.

There is a large, colorful garden full of herbs, vegetables, fruits, flowers and plants. There is lots and lots of greenery that is fabulous for your eyesight, or so we’ve been told.

You come face to face with your worse enemy. How do you react?

Absolutely freak out. Probably freeze and not know what to do. We would obviously want to punch them, not that we would.

You keep a photo album of memories from your lifetime. If you could only keep one photo, which one would that be?

One with our grandmother, who sadly passed away when we were 14. She is greatly missed.

Are you a morning person or a night owl?

Definitely a night owl.

A police officer stops you for a minor violation. What violation is that and how do you react?

Probably from accidently going over the speed limit. Internally freak out.

What is your favorite piece of clothing?

Anything soft and comfortable. Denim.

Do you have any phobias? What are they and how intense are they? How have they impacted your life?

We don’t really have any phobias, thankfully.

You move into a new home. What's the first thing you buy for it?

Cleaning products, if we don’t have any.

How do you feel about mortality?

We’re all for it. We wouldn’t like the idea of living forever. We would lose everyone we loved and cared about and that wouldn’t be fun.

How would your parents describe you?

We’re good kids and very bright. Just asked mum and that’s what she said, lol.

What’s the last thing you do before you go to bed at night?

Read.

Who is your best friend?

Kara Dunham. We’ve been best friends for over 10 years. She is our biggest fan so far and has known and loved the characters in our book (The Dawsons) for almost as long as we have.

Who is your worse enemy?

Freddy Krueger. ;)

Are you faith-oriented?

Yes.

Are you married or in a relationship?

No for Lydia, yes for Santina, being in a relationship.

Do you have children?

No. We hope to one day though.

You are at the zoo. What is your favorite animal?

Koalas.

You just woke up to find that war has been declared. What’s the first thing you would do?

Go be with our family.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?

An actor, and then a singer, and then an author.

About the Authors

Lydia and Santina Casablanca are twin sisters who were born in Brisbane, Queensland Australia. They grew up mostly in New South Wales, moving around all the time and never staying in one place for more than three years. Growing up, Lydia and Santina were left at home a lot with nothing to do while their mother worked to provide for them. The twins had wild imaginations and would often play make believe where they lived in this world where only the supernatural inhabited it. They made up all kinds of characters and story lines, and in doing so they did not realize that they were creating magic.

When Lydia and Santina were 14 years old they noticed they were starting to forget the stories, the characters and the families they had made up and they didn’t want to forget, they wanted to always remember the adventures they went on when they played, pretending they were witches who lived in a magical place. The twins decided to put down all their adventures they had had, all the characters and the families they had made up on paper so they would always remember them.

While writing their book they were suddenly aware that they had a passion for it, and realized they didn’t want their stories to be hidden, to just be shared between themselves. They wanted to share the families they had created, the adventures, the characters with the world. The twins wanted to share their love of writing, their magic and write for a living.

Lydia and Santina worked on their first novel (The Dawsons) for ten years, adding to the story, maturing and professionalizing it, editing it and trying their best to make it as perfect as a manuscript can be before they approached the self-publishing company Xlibris in October 2016. The twins knew that self-publishing a book is not cheap so they saved up for years, working at Gloss Cosmetics, Coles, etc. to earn the money that would help them to publish their first novel.

Lydia and Santina’s book The Dawsons was finally self-published with Xlibris Publishing in April 2017. The twins went through a crazy, exhilarating ride making their book a reality, and haven’t regretted taking all the nerve-racking risks in the hopes of being successful. They have been trying to get as many people as possible to know about their book, contacting radio and television stations, bookstores, newspapers and social media in the hopes that their dreams will come true.

The twins are now 24 years old and are living on the Central Coast, New South Wales. Lydia is currently working on the second installment to The Dawsons. She is also working on the first novel by contacting anyone she can to popularize their book. Santina helps Lydia with the marketing of The Dawsons whenever she can.
